Subscription Programs
During my time at Modere I assisted in creating two different Subscribe & Save programs.
The first was a VIP tier system that required a certain number of subscribed items to get better deals.
October 2021 - March 2022 (Social Retail 2.0)
After gathering feedback, the next version was an unlimited shopping credits back system based on money spent rather than number of items bought.
June 2023 - January 2024 (Modere Cash)

My Role
UX, UI, Usability, Collaboration, Information Visualization, Complex Concept Comprehension
These projects were a company wide collaboration and effort. Credit for the following work is shared among all contributors involved.
Process Changes
Developers were not used to working with UX Designers.β
Previous strategies for producing designs were ineffective and needed to be rethought.
Conceptual Visualization
Translated the complex concepts that the company thought of into visuals.β
Necessary for productive conversations and thinking through workflows.
Editing Speed
Visuals needed to be made at a rapid pace due to developer confusion around requirements and a rapidly approaching deadline.β
Requirements were redefined daily and the designs needed to reflect them so that they could be more easily discussed.

User Feedback
Customers are adding low-cost items to their subscriptions to boost theirβ―savings and rewards.
It'sβ―difficultβ―for Social Marketers toβ―explain to their customers howβ―much aβ―product isβ―going to cost because of the current complex rules.
Modere Cash
Before
After
Requirements
The ideas need to be significant enough to beβ―exciting to be adopted by the SMs.
Multipleβ―options ofβ―varyingβ―degrees of technical feasibility need to beβ―presented.

First Draft
First draft designs were made when the business chose to go with the mid-level technical difficulty.
There were a lot of pieces that were tied into the subscription program than were initially discovered.
This increased the scope of the project and ultimately delayed the project launch.

Scope
The program rules and how the business wanted to market this went back and forth several times.
At first we were going to stick with the tiered approach, but the business decided just before development to market it as unlimited savings while re-branding shopping credits as Modere Cash.
100 design pages needed to quickly be modified to keep development on track.

Initial Launch
The new program launched to the Canada and United States markets first and was well received by nearly 1,000 SMs during a live Zoom announcement and presentation.
Website Remodel
The website has since been remodeled and the visual elements of the program were modified to match the new branding.
While working with a third-party company to re-platform the website, they found it challenging and confusing to build two different programs at the same time since the Modere Cash program was still only launched in North American markets and not the rest of the worldβs markets.
Close collaboration needed to be maintained and visual guides made to keep the subtle differences straight.
Outcomes
Gained 100,000+ subscribers in 3 months through altered program benefits.
The new program has cut costs for the company.
User confusion has been reduced.
SMs have expressed that the Modere Cash rules and benefits are a lot easier to explain and that they save time trying to convince customers to sign up.
Itβs also easier for them to create advertising materials.
Weβve seen that very few of the Modere Cash earned through the program is expiring, indicating more maintained subscriptions or people making more purchases to use up their credits.
Special shout out to my amazing team who worked so hard to make this project a success!
